You Deserve to Feel Seen, Heard, and Supported!
Hi there, I’m Lauren and I’m excited to start this journey with you! This work matters deeply to me because mental health is something that impacts all of us, and no one has to navigate life’s challenges alone.
In our work together, you can expect a space grounded in genuine support, compassionate curiosity, and humor. I believe therapy can be a place where you feel comfortable being fully yourself while also being challenged in meaningful ways. Whether you're dealing with life stressors, depression, anxiety, identity exploration, or just feeling “stuck,” we will work together to make sense of what you're experiencing and find ways to move forward.
My approach is person-centered and affirming, and I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build clarity, flexibility, and self-trust. I tailor each session to your needs, because there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing.
I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, including transgender and gender diverse clients, and advocating for spaces where people feel safe, seen, and respected. I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and follow the Standards of Care, Version 8, to ensure ethical, affirming, and evidence-based support.
~MORE ABOUT LAUREN~
I'm a born and raised South Carolinian, I'm also part of the LGBTQIA+ community, a two time Gamecock alumna, and I LOVE playing board games with my friends. On weekends you can find me snuggled up with my two dogs or completing home renovation projects with my wife. I've worked in the mental health field for 10 years, and I'm working on my PhD in public health with the goal to expand community mental health resources to rural folks, especially those in marginalized communities. I am very passionate about social justice!
